About the Artist

Astrid is a Nicaraguan-Honduran artist, based in Lake Tahoe, California. She has been passionate about the arts since a child, but until June of 2021 she decided to become a professional artist while studying at the Milan Art Institute. For years she struggled with knowing her purpose & worth and after years of internal searching she hit a breakthrough. In the lowest point of her life she committed to her personal growth and in a spiritual retreat she had a vision of herself sharing her paintings and teaching workshops all over the world.

Her style has evolved from painting detailed galaxies and mandalas, to abstract realism of women, wild animals, nature and the Cosmos. She loves to sketch and draw images and layer them with spray paint, markers, acrylics, inks, collage and oil paints. Her loose brushstrokes accompanied with refined details demonstrate her confidence and commitment to her craft, as well as her personal evolution that went from being tight and close, to opening up and freeing her self-expression.

Her studio overlooking the beautiful pine trees of the mountain and aqueous lands of Tahoe, inspires Astrid to paint daily. She also loves to travel, explore nature and teach. She offers online art, yoga and personal development workshops that teach her students how to connect with their inner power and open up the possibility of transforming their reality into one that aligns to their soul’s path. Her future goal is to travel  showcasing her art and offering retreats worldwide. She hopes to create a spark in people’s hearts and inspire her tribe by reminding them of their strength, worth and inner magic.

Paint it into existence…

"I love to transmit emotion through my brush strokes. My art is inspired by the connection of the Divine and the earthly realms where I show through my work that it’s possible to transform our reality and bring into fruition a vision inside our imagination. I paint portraits of women for their beauty and strength and wild animals for representing true nature and the fierceness within that drives me to follow my dreams. With my art I hope to inspire people, to allow them to question their thoughts, to feel, to believe in themselves and their gifts, and to remind them of their inner power."

What my collectors say…

"When I first saw Astrid's artwork, I was instantly captivated by her painting "Connecting Through". During this time, I had completely lost my sense of self worth and identity; and I was currently working on finding myself and healing what was broken. All the way across the art gallery, I instantly connected with this piece and that piece alone. It made me feel as though someone put onto a canvas what seemed to be a complete understanding of me, my struggles and my surrender to the universe. It was as though with that surrender, it connected me to all that is divine and all that is in this world and it was perfectly captured onto a canvas. I have never felt so much emotion for artwork in my life, but this painting saved me. It was as though I was not alone. It serves as a reminder every single day that I connect, I am connected and I am divine. I am grateful every morning I wake up and view it, Astrid's work touches the heart and soul. Her positive energy transends her physical being"
